Sugar Rush Cakery is an appointment only bakery, recently relocated (09/2017) to Castle Rock, CO, previously located in Windermere, FL. We specialize in custom desserts for all occasions. We are committed to delivering high quality cakes that are as beautiful as they are delicious. We have been internationally recognized for our work and have been included in multiple industry leading publications and collaborations, as well as recently being featured on Cake Wars on Food Network. Jodie Lavoie, owner of Sugar Rush Cakery, has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. She has worked in the fine dining and hospitality industry for over 10 years, where she was introduced to the art of pastry and cake decorating. She coupled her business savvy with her passion for cake design and Sugar Rush Cakery was born! Jodie loves to be involved in every step of the design process for each and every cake and dessert table she creates. She stands behind clean work and consistent, gourmet style recipes. In just a few short years in the industry, Jodie has been internationally recognized and published in industry leading showcases and websites. She has also been selected to compete on Cake Wars on Food Network (aired 08/2016). Jodie continues to strive to create bigger and better cakes with each opportunity, in order to remain one of the premier cake designers in Castle Rock, CO.
At Sugar Rush Cakery, we pride ourselves on creating cakes, fillings, and frostings using only the freshest and finest ingredients available, while providing our customers with a personalized design process and professional appearance in each one of our custom creations. When ordering with us, you will receive a custom cake, with each tier standing 4"-5" tall. Each tier consists of 3-4 layers of cake and 2-3 layers of frosting or filling, ensuring that your cake will have a consistent flavor profile and the perfect cake to filling ratio with each and every bite! After stacking and filling our cakes, we "crumb coat" with a thin layer of buttercream. Next comes the decadent chocolate ganache OR our REAL BUTTER, made from scratch Buttercream! The sturdiness of the ganache/buttercream makes for clean, sharp edges on your cake, which gives it the most professional appearance. Once the cake is covered in ganache or buttercream, we cover our cakes with fondant for a clean, sleek finish. If you are not a fan of fondant, we will be happy to create a beautiful cake using all buttercream or ganache as the outside layer of your cake as well, but please note that these mediums do not hold up against outdoor elements as well as fondant covered cakes.
